Yard Force 1600 Electric Pressure Washer Review
The third power washer in our top three list is a little different from the Sun Joe and AR Blue Clean. The Yard Force 1600 Electric Pressure Washer was added to our list not because of an over-powered motor. This washer is all about convenience and it does that very, very well. It has the smartest and smallest design of all the washers we have reviewed. This washer is all about convenience and it does that very, very well. It has the smartest design of all the washers we have reviewed. The Yard Force 1600 is also one of the easiest to use and the most practical in terms of size and storage. It is extremely compact and packs an impressive amount of power for such a small unit. It is very easy to transport in the front seat or trunk of a car. If you have to carry the unit, it weighs in at just 25 pounds.
This washer is the perfect buy if you live in an apartment or townhouse or if this is your first pressure washer purchase. It can do everything that an occasional user could want, without the bigger price of more powerful units.
Performance and Features
The motor generates 1600 PSI of pressure, delivering 1.2 gallons of water per minute. This isn't a class leader in terms of power, but is still very respectable for such a small washer. It is very capable for all kinds of residential tasks and is a great compromise between performance and energy efficiency. While many washers available to retail customers are much more powerful than they will ever need to be, the Yard Force 1600 has just the right strength in terms of PSI and GPM for what a home user will require of it.
The Yard Force is ready to go straight out of the box and requires no special adaptors or power connections. The connectors for the attachments and trigger wand are made of a robust, durable metal that ensure they will last for years. The Yard Force is notably quiet, not only compared to gas washers but also to most other electric washers. The washer is very cleverly designed to minimize its size while at the same time providing onboard storage for the power cord, wand and nozzles. This means nothing gets mislaid over time and the washer itself is very easy to store, especially if you only have indoor storage space available (in an apartment for example). There is a generous onboard detergent tank, with a 32 ounce capacity, making any washing job a simple process.
The handle folds for even more compact storage and the wheels are very smooth, providing little to no resistance when pulled along gently by hand. During operation, you wouldn't even notice the smaller motor as both the pressure and volume of water it delivers are fantastic. Whether it was cleaning cars or removing grime from masonry, the Yard Force powered through it with little difficulty. Since its introduction, this washer has received consistently excellent reviews and it is easy to see why it is a customer favorite.
For ordinary day to day tasks, the washer is equipped with a 25 degree and soap nozzle. While the range of nozzles that come with the washer is a little more restricted than some other models, the Yard Force 1600 can accept any pressure washer accessory with a standard ¼" connection. This makes this washer very versatile and capable of more specialized work if you need it.
For dealing with heavier jobs, such as cleaning concrete etc., the Yard Force comes with a turbo nozzle that can take full advantage of the motors power. This can lift enough the worst dirt on hard surfaces and we didn't encounter anything it couldn't handle.
Warranty and Support
The Yard Force comes with a two year warranty, equaling that of its more expensive counterpart, the Sun Joe SPX3000.
